Position: Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Location: Penrith, Cumbria

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (8:00 am - 5:30 pm), with every other Saturday morning (8:00 am - 12:00 pm)

Jim Walton Penrith Ltd is looking for an experienced and passionate Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join our outstanding workshop team. Whether you’re an experienced mechanic or a technician with dealership or independent garage experience, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

·      Performing vehicle health checks using cutting-edge diagnostic tools.

·      Conducting routine servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards.

·      Completing repairs and ensuring customer vehicles are roadworthy.

·      Managing and completing warranty work according to manufacturer guidelines.

·      Preparing and testing new and used vehicles to ensure safety and performance.

·      Liaising with customers and colleagues professionally to provide updates and explanations.

·      Completing all relevant paperwork and maintaining accurate records to a high standard.

·      Keeping the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have:

·      An NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent). 

·      A full and valid UK driving licence.

·      A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified technician (dealership or independent garage).

·      Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

·      Strong customer service and communication abilities.

·      A self-motivated attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

·      Familiarity with diagnostic tools and EV technology (desirable but not essential).

·      MOT tester experience (advantageous but not mandatory).
